Dr. Luke Seltzer is a licensed clinical psychologist highly trained in evidence-based psychological treatments and insight-oriented therapy. Dr. Seltzer has been providing mental health services in the Southern California area since he began his training in 2009. His career has been motivated by seeing his clients move beyond their trauma, loss, life struggles, and problematic relationships to a place of empowerment, with a strong inner direction, and greater peace. 

 

Dr. Seltzer has expertise in working with many different cultural/ethnic/personal backgrounds, personality issues, substance abuse issues, bipolar disorder, guilt and shame, trauma and abuse, depression, anxiety and psychotic thought processes. He has completed extensive training in psychological evaluations and assessments of both adolescents and adults. Dr. Seltzer also completed training in Forensic Psychology at Patton State Hospital in Redlands, California, where he provided comprehensive psychodiagnostic assessments for court-related evaluations. 

 

Dr. Seltzer as a therapist has worked in a variety of settings. This includes community counseling centers, schools and universities, state hospitals, medical centers, and currently in private practice. In addition to working as a therapist, Dr. Seltzer has taught undergraduate psychology courses as an adjunct faculty member. During his doctoral residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Hampton, Virginia, Dr. Seltzer served our veteran population recovering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Dr. Seltzer offers short-term and long-term therapy for adolescents, adults and seniors, as well as couples and families.
